Robsoul Recordings 108: Joss Moog – That Old Feeling

One of the unsung heroes of the Robsoul Recording roster, fellow Parisian Joss Moog provides the latest EP for Phil Weeks’ label.

Joss Moog That Old Feeling Robsoul Recordings  Taking a break from his previous series of the Room 25/26/27 EPs, the new 4 tracker is entitled ‘That Old Feeling’ - a title that provides a perfect insight to the music.  Rooted in house music’s history and brought up to date with Moog’s live approach in the studio (check his recent Underground Chronicles video here), his trademark layered chords dominate the title track, while ‘That’s What U R’ is filtered French disco and ‘Blue Paradise’ twists up jazz-funk to another solid jacking house beat.
As 5 Magazine’s Terry Matthew succinctly sums up Moog: ”Funky enough to make it into Jackin’ house sets, hard enough to wrap around some tech, and groovy enough for those soulful types to grab on for dear life”.
